Maharashtra government’s demand to the BCCI to get the prior permission of the government before allowing them to perform during the renowned IPL matches. Immediate provocation for this demand is the performance of 'The scantily clad foreign girls' thee IPL match. According to the Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Siddharam Mhetr, their performance is not acceptable in the distinctive Indian culture. It came after the demand of BJP to the central government to ban cheer girls in the IPL.

Another interesting episode in which cheer girls were involved was the complaint made by two British cheer girls regarding the racial abuse. Reportedly they made the complaint only after one month.
