IND vs SL 3rd ODI
In the 2nd ODI, Sri Lanka have once again proved that why they are considered dangerous side in their den after overconfident Team India’s dismal performance. The tourists underestimated Islanders in the 2nd ODI after scoring 314 runs in the 1st ODI in Hambantota.
As like of 1st ODI, Dhoni & Co. started their 2nd game in the similar passion, leaving behind the fact that every game was a different ball game. Indian batsmen were lazy in shot selection and threw their wickets in regular intervals.
The side, which scored 314 runs at the same venue, were bowled out for 138 runs in 34th over in the 2nd match of five playoffs.
Apart from Gautam Gambhir, no other Indian batsmen bothered to stay quality of time on the crease. However, R Ashwin once again gave the ample of signs to become an allrounder in future. Though, Ashwin will have to show maturity while batting down the order.
Sword is also hanging on young Rohit Sharma, who failed with the bat in last two games. In the last 10 ODIs, Rohit has just one half-century in his kitty. He must feel lucky if Dhoni gives him another chance in this match. Manoj Tiwary is the strong contender for the place in final XI.
As far as bowling is concerned, Indian pace spearhead Zaheer Khan has been struggling with the line-length. Indian pacers have also gave away two many extras in the last two games. Skipper Dhoni has already asked pacers to avoid delivering too many extras. Dhoni can make changes in the bowling department as spinner Pragyan Ojha hurt his neck during practice session.
On the other hand, Sri Lankans have brilliantly bounced back in the tournament will try to keep the momentum going.
