WI vs NZ 2nd T20: Gayle and Bravo stabilises West Indies at 177
Monday , July 02 2012 , 01:01 PM
West Indies decided to bat on the same ground on which they had plundered New Zealand for 209 yesterday. New Zealand had some respite at the start as Kieron Pollard, who had smashed an unbeaten 63 in the first Twenty20, was rested as a precautionary measure after hurting his shoulder in the field yesterday. Lendl Simmons took Pollard's place in the XI.
New Zealand had a mountain of their own injury woes to surmount, with Ross Taylor, Jacob Oram and Ronnie Hira being ruled out of today's game after picking up injuries yesterday. They handed leadership duties to Kane Williamson in place of Taylor, and brought in Andrew Ellis, Kyle Mills and Daniel Flynn.
West Indies: Chris Gayle, Dwayne Smith, Marlon Samuels, Johnson Charles, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Bravo, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Darren Sammy (capt), Samuel Badree, Sunil Narine, Fidel Edwards
New Zealand: Rob Nicol, Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson (capt), Andrew Ellis, Daniel Flynn, Dean Brownlie, Tom Latham (wk), Doug Bracewell, Nathan McCullum, Tim Southee, Kyle Mills
