The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been the subject of criticism from various corners as it has been labelled as one of the chief reasons of players getting injured.

But one injured cricketer is banking on the platform provided by the T20 League to make a comeback to the national team.

Speedster Sreesanth, out of the action for quite some time because of a toe injury, said that he was excited about the challenge of playing in IPL V and was looking forward to it. “I’m really excited about the challenge and am eagerly looking forward to it,” Sreesanth, who was in the city for a promotional, said on Sunday.

Sreesanth, who played in IPL IV for the now-disbanded Kochi Tuskers, was bought by the Rajasthan Royals at his base price of $400,000, at the auctions held in Bangalore on Saturday. The Kerala pacer also revealed that he was hoping to return to the national team in the World T20, to be held in Sri Lanka, in September.

“I have to work hard so that I can set myself up for a return to the national team at the World T20, this September,” Sreesanth said.
