Sri Lanka vs South Afrcia 2012 ODI Series4th One Day InternationalLive Cricket ScorecardMatch PreviewToss Result: South Africa won the toss and elected to bat firstWith the series already wrapped up, both South Africa and Sri Lanka decided to experiment with their line-ups for the fourth ODI in Kimberley. South Africa handed comebacks to fast bowlers Wayne Parnell and Vernon Philander, leaving out Dale Steyn and Albie Morkel. Parnell has only played one ODI over the past year, while Philander returns after a three-year absence from the format. Sri Lanka, inching closer to a win with each match in this series, also made a raft of changes. Allrounder Thisara Perera came in for the ineffective Kosala Kulasekara, offspinner Sachithra Senanayake was handed a debut at the expense of fast bowler Dilhara Fernando, and Lahiru Thirrimane replaced the injured Mahela Jayawardene. The Kimberley track was expected to be full of runs, and AB de Villiers chose to bat, though he seemingly initially told Tillakaratne Dilshan that South Africa wanted to bowl, before changing his mind. It was a very hot day in Kimberley and there were some concerns over rain interruptions, but the D/L problems of the third one-dayer didn't persuade either captain that bowling first was the better option.
